Russ Van Natta, VP of Sales at Creative Works, explains how to increase your weekday revenue for your laser tag attraction.
Hey everyone, welcome to another 360 Insight from you friends here at Creative Works where we give you actionable tips for your entertainment business.
Today, I'm going to talk to you guys about what we do on that Monday through Thursday traffic where we don't tend to have as many bodies in the door but we still want to be able to increase some profitability during those times.
Specifically, when we talk about what we can do within the laser tag experience to do that.
One of the biggest things that we see operators not take full advantage of is one, the immense diversity of game modes that are available for them to use for their guests.
When you're running on a business, birthday parties and everything on Saturdays and Sundays, you really need to have two or three different game modes that you're going to consistently use to make sure that things stay on time and that you're keeping that high level of energy going again and again.
But when we have an experience, let's say on a Tuesday evening where we don't have as many folks in, we all of a sudden need to - we can't run the same game modes that we would when we have a much larger group that's in there.
So one of the things that we do is with the different game modes is looking out what make sense for the groups size that's in there, whether it's a team based game, whether it's a free for all game, do we look at capture the flag or zombie options, looking at those different types of engagement which will again, the more diverse experience that your guest will have, the more likely that they'll come again and again.
So, you can utilize these different game modes and promote through your social media of, “Hey, be sure to come on Tuesday nights when we have six new laser tag games that we're going to debut.”
Talking with your equipment manufacturers and helping them give you some insight on which games would work best with the targets and elements you have in your space along with the different sizes would go a long way with this.
Another piece that we want to do is increase that guest experience by utilizing upgrades and membership opportunities and those sorts of things because a lot of that ties into the online video game platform just as well that's made that so successful where people are getting rewarded for coming again and again, they're getting better and increased upgrade opportunities when they're playing the game, they're getting specialty prices on food and beverage that you have there.
There is a whole slew of things that can be taken advantage of in this case where a little bit of outside of the box thinking can go a long way in increasing your traffic on those slower nights and creating a really cool escapism for your guests when they otherwise wouldn't normally come.
So hopefully this is just a peak into what you guys can start doing.
